If you're a TEACHER put your hands in the air!

Seems to me that there are a number of teachers here on this board! I'm curious to see what age/subject you currently teach!

I work in a private school in St. Louis and mostly teach 8th grade science, but I also teach one section of 5th grade science. I also coach cycling in the high school in the fall and spring (fall is the just for fun kids, spring is the serious kids that race).

If you don't see a poll yet, it is forthcoming!

    Oooo ME ME ME!!!

You forgot the Pre-K teachers and Kindergarten teachers! They deserve recognition for sure, since spending only 30 minutes at a time with them just plain wears me out.
This year I became a Pre-K through 8th grade Librarian and Gifted/talented teacher in a Catholic school. I used to teach 5th grade for 10 years, but have moved from the classroom and one group to the whole school and ALL the kids.

Ah- I just changed my response and checked all grades from 1-8 since I teach them all (and Pre-K and K, too). I didn't know we could check more than one.

I'm impressed that you remembered all the other extra areas at the bottom that I would have certainly forgotten.

    Great poll, Reesha!

Middle school English/language arts, here (7th/8th). Going back to work Tuesday (never mind that, of course, I've been going in to work on my room for the past week or so) and school starts the following week.

I know I'm spoiled with our two-plus month break, but I'm just not quite ready for summer to end.

I didn't fill out the poll, because I am a former teacher, gr. 6/7 English/Language Arts. I looped with my kids for 2 years.
Even though I am on to a new career, I don't think I will ever stop feeling like a teacher, after 31 years!

I'm an elementary music teacher. Yes, the kindergarten teachers need a special pat on the back. They are my most challenging classes.

I nominate that ECE/Pre-K/K teachers answer in the poll as "foreign language". I subbed in a kindergarten class for one day. That was enough. The little ones and I just can't communicate.

Community College - American History and Western Civilization. We start classes tomorrow morning. My morning rides will have to be shorter but luckily my classes don't start until 11:00.

I'm on leave, home with my baby right now, but my current position is teaching 7th grade reading....most favorite age and subject ever.

I've taught middle school and high school German, too.

I heart teaching reading. Love, love, love it. And I love middle school, too. The kids rock.
