    Good luck Urlea!

I got out for a horrible, no good, ugly 2.75 miles tonight. So much for the planned 4! My legs felt like they were trudging through mud the whole way and I couldn't seem to locate my comfort zone. The lingering 90 degree temps didn't help the cause much either.

Susan, I see that you're registered for the 24 hour at ROFTT. I'm surprised you're running too. I'll be seeing you there. I'm doing the 12. I'm not registered yet, I suppose I should get on that.

Are you doing another event that involves running too? Sorry if you've already explained yourself many times... I'm just fresh back on the forum. Been away for a while.

Yet another hot humid day today! I did my half-hour run around the neighborhood at 8:30 this morning but was still extremely hot.

Jolt, I was power walking at the same time and it is just horrible out there. I don't think I can remember such a long stretch of heat and humidity here since i moved back here or when i was a kid. The dew point is 75 now! My asthma is acting up and I am on Claritin, too. Can't wait for Monday when it is supposed to be clear and cooler again.

I have been super busy this week. But I've managed to squeeze in some 20 minute runs. It's not much so I've been trying to make them count.

3 runs for me this week. Each 20 minutes long, intervals and hill training.

A cold front came through here yesterday, and so the conditions for running were much nicer this morning. It's amazing what a difference 15 degrees F can make... Unfortunately, I had a busy morning scheduled and didn't drag myself out of bed early enough to do the long run I had planned. But tomorrow looks to be just as nice-- and so I might finally try doing a long run and a long ride on the same day (and just let the lawn grow a little higher meanwhile)....

Made it through my first ultra marathon strong!!! My running buddy landed 1st place women for the 50k & I took 2nd!! Which shocked us both. Not the most competitive field, but people struggle w/ the hills & the heat while we just kept pushing through.

Race report to come when my brain cells are some place other than my legs!

    Happy runs this wknd ladies!

    Hi Wahine!

I got back into doing triathlon more seriously this year. I did 4 this season. Plus, I made a goal to run a half marathon for my 40th birthday, which is October 23rd. I'll be running the Girlfriends Half Marathon on Vancouver WA on 10/8, 5 days before my birthday.

So many women doing ROFTT this year! I did the very first one in 2005. I did the 12, and I was the only solo woman entered in any event that year. This year, there are already 4 signed up for the 24 (I think only Sandy Earl has done the 24 solo) and 5 (6 after you sign up) signed up for the 12 hour. I think that rocks. I'm hoping to do 250 miles, but that would mean about 23,000 feet of elevation gain. I've never attempted something that ambitious before, so I've no idea if I can manage it. But it'll be "fun" to try! Looking forward to meeting you at the pre-race meeting.

I ended my run week on Friday with 5 miles, for a total of 21 miles for the week. I need to think about replacing my shoes soon.
