Give this one a try: Why We Run, by Bernd Heinrich. I don't even run, and I still love that book.

Previously my running bible was CHI Running, but I just finished reading
BORN TO RUN: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen (Christopher McDougall). Not only was it a great read and great story, it is truly inspiring on the runners.
According to evolutionary biology we humans were built to RUN! The long and the short of the book is that Running made us smart, smartness made us runners and so on, plus a bunch of nice lovey dovey stuff about how running is love and love is running.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND the book!

"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

Random babblings and some stuff to look at.
I did this as an audio book and loved it.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...
