And Mr. Silver, you've offered really great advice. Very specific. I agree that getting out of the non-payoff activities is key here. It's one thing to help out because you can, but it's hypocritical for them to ask this of you, then penalize you for it.

As for working weekends, is it possible to have "on-call" weekends for you and your team, so you can rotate them between you?

Is there a union or HR rep who is charged with enforcing the employee handbook? Are those holidays really a "rule" or more of a "guideline"?
