I think I've done this ride every year I've been cycling (1996 to present) - it's the "Season Opener" here in the Portland area. It is a very easy metric century - only 2 hills of any consequence, and they are no more than 1/4 to 1/2 mile long and not very steep. Fairly flat ride. Goes on no matter the weather, and I've ridden in upper 70's and sunshine down to upper 30's and rain. Afternoons are usually windy, though sometimes a headwind, sometimes a tailwind. Depends on the weather![]()
Salem Bicyle Club puts on good rides - well supported, good routes, good food at the stops and at the end - Monster Cookie has lots of cookies at the stops and lunch then at the end, they have "Monster" cookies - large ones :-)
Peach of a Century features Peach Pie at the end. Lots of fruit and goodies at the stops. Not sure if we're riding it this year or not - most likely will.
