I need to Wrap my Ankle

    To disable ads, please log-in.

My work has a no visible tattoo policy. Unfortunately I have a tattoo on my ankle. This summer it is ridiculously hot and our building A/C seems to be protesting to the intense work load. I was going to switch to skirts for relief but I don't want to be in violation on the policy. I was thinking just wear an ankle brace but is this bad for extended periods in the absence of a real injury? I have just one of those slip on compression ones. My tattoo is a rather large rose. about 2-3" across and probably 5" tall. I could probably put a rather large bandaid on it. I would wear hose which practically camoflouges it but most of my shoes are open toed!

i'd go for the band-aid. I think it would be more comfortable and less obtrusive. Though come to think of it . . . would be great if you could use a kid's bandage w a wild design on it.

I'd use a bandaid too. Or, in the alternative, get the very stretchy stuff that comes in tubes to hold on bandages. Kind of like a big tube. It's not tight enough to interfere with your ankle.

Why can't you wear sheer-toe hose (or tights) with open toed shoes?

Otherwise, I'd say band-aid, too. It would match your bruises.

I would get compression stalkings and just explain that you have been training really hard and they help with recovery!!
haha or I would go with a childs bandaid with cartoon characters on it.

    Vote for band-aid

I vote for the band-aid, too. I had to wear a compression bandage after I sprained my ankle and it caused blisters where it met my sandals. Kids band-aids have some really cute designs now, almost as good as a real tattoo!

If it were small I would totally get some kids bandaids! I am thinking I might go the stretchy tape or ace bandage route (and duh I hadn't thought of that stuff). My HR manager jokingly said to wrap it and just say "I mountain bike really hard, can't seem to quit injuring this ankle!"

Red- I was thinking of that but I want to wear a lot of skirts I am thinking at $25 a tube that could get pricey. I know a lot of girl's who have used them for their weddings.

Yeah the tattoo concealer works really well. I have a friend who has used it every day for years on both his wrists. His boss is none the wiser.

Still, no tattoo policies are annoying

you can get hose without toes (there's a little thong that goes between your toes that doesn't really show). they work pretty well, although I haven't worn hose in ages.

We are a sales company, I see the need for the policy just need to wear skirts! I don't deal with our customers but they might see me. I am okay with the policy, so I went with the sports tape.
