Well, if anyone has been following (or avoiding, as the case may be) my "new" Colnago which tumped over on my roof rack, bending the dropout, which ruined the fork, which led to new fork, which couldn't be found, which led to the frame that came with a fork, I don't know why she swallowed that fly.
Anyhoo, I wound up with a totally new C-50 frame and fork, just because I am too pigheaded to put an Easton fork on a Colnago bike...Easton makes a perfectly fine carbon fork that would fit. I am also too pigheaded to put a fork with a non-carbon steerer on my otherwise all carbon bike. I was at an impasse.
SO! Back to ebay I went and wound up with a new complete bike. It has stuff on it I don't want...I have Campy Chorus 11 and will replace the dura-ace...but some nice upgrades too....I like the Ritchey stem, but it is far too long for me, so I will replace it with another Ritchey stem. I love the Ritchey carbon handlebars, so those will stay. I am not sure about the wheelset, but I know that if i replace the freehub it will work with my Campy stuff, and I gather that this is a nice wheelset, so it will stay. I will sell the Dura-Ace deraillures, the FSA crankset and cassette, the stem, and the Colnago C-40 frame so that someone who gets a good rockin deal on the frame and is not picky about the fork like I am will appreciate it.
I probably have the most expensive bike in the world, thanks to my own dumb self. I am also, by the way, going to aquire a hitch and hitch rack. I will leave the roof rack for emergencies and extra bikes, but no more tipping over for me. At least it did not hit the ground so the frame itself is fine. Here it tis....pre-switchout. It just arrived in the mail today.
