Nice bikes, and welcome to TE. You could change out the cassette on the road bike, you know, and have an easier time of riding it. I switched out mine to have a 27 cog and it's been alot more fun to ride than that old 22.
I used to have a 1989 Bridgestone MB-2, which was a very nice mountain bike in its day. Unfortunately, due to moves and divorce, it got left behind when I moved back to the US from France almost 10 years ago and is now who-knows-where. My former MIL (it was in her shed) moved to another city, so I'm sure it's either still rotting away in that shed or someone has taken it. I hope it's being treated well. There's no way I'll ever get it back at this point.
Anyhoo, have fun riding!
