Crankin... Rest can be a VERY good thing!
I got a stress fracture during my marathon in May... so I took 6 weeks off, no running.
And you know what? I'm back- faster than I have ever been. It's amazing. And oddly freaky.
I think those 6 weeks off were a huge part of me being so successful right now with running.
Gosh, before the stress fracture I was doing a walk/run combo for anything over 3-4 miles... and now I have run up to 6 miles... with around a 9:30 mm. My time before was close to a 11 mm w/the walk/run.
Last night I went and rode 1 hour of hills on my bike... then I ran 3 miles afterwards. Ran with a 8:40 mm pace.
I think a ghost of a runner has entered my body and taken over. HA! This just isn't ME! Well, it wasn't me.
