Ok, updated:

I just installed Training Center onto my computer at work (probably not the best use of company time), then followed up by installing the Mapsource Updater. This works because GTC comes with "PC base maps" which are the default maps for the Edge series of receivers.

Once you install GTC, you can install Mapsource, then you can install the Ibycus packs and life will be good.
