I did find a nutritionist a couple of weeks ago. He put me on a 1450 calorie a day "diet", but what is most important is that my calories must be 65% carbs, 13% protein and 22% fat. I am riding my bike 15-20 miles 5 days a week. I take one rest day and I do one super-easy recovery ride a week as well. I am not doing any weight training at this time.

I've eaten this many calories before, but I've never eaten a diet so low in protein. He also asked me to try not to eat anything processed and to try swapping out Soy Milk for my normal 2% fat milk.

After 2 years of non-weight loss, I was skeptical. It took me a few days playing around with food combinations to hit the magic 65/13/22 ratios... to my amazement and surprise, I've lost 3 pounds in the first 2 weeks!!!

I was a little hungry and a little sleepy the first few days -- I assume from eating more carbs than usual. I'm eating fruit at least 3 times a day, lots of veggies, yogurt, Kashi cereal, salads, almonds and graham crackers for a snack. Ditched my favorite protein bars.

This is my off-the-bike calories. I can eat 250 calories per hour on the bike and it doesn't count.

So ladies, I might be back in the next challenge -- I have 25 pounds to lose, which will take a while. Fellow hopeless ones, you might want to try this ratio of carbs/protein/fat and see if it helps you too!
I am not in this challenge this time but I may try this. I have been trying for several years to lose some weight without any success. I will keep my fingers crossed.
