Nice report Fredwina! love the pics - as usual!

TriGirl... sure was "thick" out there today, wasn't it? Woof

I went out "late" b/c I was watching the Tour live and couldn't pull myself away right after. Anyway - I didn't think it was that hot when I left. Woof. It may have only been 95 out there, but it sure felt humid! Think maybe we have some increased chance for rain or something. I just couldn't seem to breathe right/well. Bahhh!

I haven't downloaded my Garmin yet, but I'm sure the speed is slow compared to some recent rides. Still - its better than any day on the couch, right? And its certainly better than last weekend (when I was down with flu-like junk Sat/Sun).

37 miles today.. pretty flat terrain - less than 1000' climbing.

Maybe... Actually I think I may be free that weekend. I'll have to check the ol' calendar and see, but it looks like a lot of fun! It's on the short list for sure. I don't often get to that area to ride, but it's soooo pretty, that whenever I do I'm really glad I did.

You should do the MS Ride. It starts in T-town and ends up in the City (with an overnight stay in Chandler). 70 the first day (with an optional century) and 60 the second day. http://bikeoke.nationalmssociety.org...E_OKE_homepage
I'll do yours if you'll do mine. hee hee- just kidding

And I got out early enough that it wasn't too bad out there- 'cept that the wind was kickin' it like crazy out of the SW. Yowza!

Did a hair over 19 miles early this morning, as my son was coming over to go swimming.
We did the "flat" route in the opposite direction, which is a little longer than the normal way we do it because of a one way street. My DH pushed me relentlessly and I felt it. I was able to stay behind him, save for a couple of times when he sprinted up little rollers. I just can't do that; I feel so much more comfortable spinning. But, I was able to go up these little climbs at a faster pace. Before we started up the hill for the final big climb, my average was 17.8 and 16.4 when I got to my house. I don't usually like to report my speed, but this was a first for me.
I was exhausted when we got back, but we had a nice picnic at the pond with our son. I think it's the first time I've seen him without his girlfriend being there in a year.

DH and i finally had a day where the weather and our chores coordinated enough to do a nice 24 mile ride- it was GREAT.

    Sacroiliac Ride

Earlier this week i felt some back twinges. Nothing serious,... but... Today my back went out. I was reaching for something on the floor; something i do every day; I'm pretty spry and flexible. NOT any more. Oh brother.
We were planning to ride up to the north end of Seattle to help out in a work party stuffing packets for Ramrod. All i wanted to do was go to the chiropractor. DH suggested i take the light rail AFTER the chiropractor so i could rest myself for a bit; so that's what i did. Got very good TLC at the chiro and then got on the train. While i was hanging my bike, the train moved... and I almost fell over it felt so bad!!
the rest of the train ride wasn't as fun, as i was recovering from the lurch.
Got off the train (didn't touch my bike until the train stopped moving!!!) and rode the rest of the way to Seattle center where I met Donald. At this point i realize my seat is different today, i am heavier on my hands and my crotch... muscle spasms in my back I guess. But the nutty thing was; i felt better when i was pedaling than when i stopped. Got to the work party and sat down OW
after the packet stuffing party, all i wanted to do was get on the bike. We rode home along the waterfront, with a chilly (wonderful) wind coming across the Sound onto us. (I could have ridden back and forth THERE all night!
The rest of the ride was uneventful, but every time we had to stop at a light I groaned. (I even went through 1 light where there was no traffic so i didn't have to stop.
    19.5 miles today.

I can't beleive it. I have the longest ride yet reported!
Forty flat miles on the rail trail.
Stopped a lot to chat, take photos, pick berries, wait out a sudden squall.
It took about 5 hours but what a great way to spend a day.

Maybe some photos later if you're good.
