Sundial-it's just a bit brisk, not cold. The lows for this "winter" have been to 2C, not cold at all! THen again, I wear shorts when it's 2C outside. The weather on my ride was really unpredictable & thought the yellow jacket would be a good idea. Turned out I only needed it in a few parts where there were pockets of rain & wind. Perth weather is annoying...

I have no idea who the statue is dedicated to...I'll ask some folks & let ya know.

Jillm-do you ever see any grain elevators? I love grain elevators.

Fields, hills, castles, castle farms, an airfield, lots and lots of orchards, breweries, deer, rabbits, falcons, cows, horses, a dungeon, a monastary, a beguinage, very old churches (the eldest is 1200 years old, 2 kms from here), the tgv, a windmill...

Never a dull moment on my rides.

I saw this boat at the dock on Tempe Town Lake this morning. I thought it was kind of cool.

On my morning commute today I saw a bunny crossing the road...in the crosswalk; smart bunny
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

HappyTexasMom, I think that's a dragon boat, and yes, it's pretty cool!

As do many other cities, DC has a Dragon Boat Festival: http://www.dragonboatdc.com/

papaver, next time I'm in Belgium, I'm biking it! Great pics! And I think I have a picture of the "hollow road," from a drive to Namur years ago.

Yesterday, I saw the Monocacy Aquaduct:

And lots of turtle, including this one:

And water and trees, lots and lots of trees:

I also saw Great Blue Herons, one Great Egret, numerous Green Herons, a goldfinch, lots of cardinals and even more grackles (impressive numbers of them, all together, flying off along the canal as I approached), Canada Geese, horse poop, innumerable gnats, biting flies and mosquitoes, and spiders, including two which decided to hitchhike on ME! (I HATE spiders!)

I heard a lot of different birds, too, including wood thrushes and peewees, and just the tail end of a veery song.

Some of the smells along the trail were wonderful; at one particular spot, there was a very sweet scent in the air. I do not know what it came from, despite looking around for its source. Not something I've smelled before.

DH keeps thinking that this is a good idea. I keep telling him that if neighbors don't, I will kill him if I'm waked by a lawn mower at that hour of the morning!

(once, he wanted to use the snowblower at 4 a.m. -- again, a really BAD idea!)

Yesterday at Chabot Regional Park in Oakland, CA. I had to quickly get off the trail to avoid getting trampled!

This is a water tower painted with race horses in Versailles, Kentucky (next to Lexington), the "Horse Capital of the World".

Saturday I came upon 3 adult wild turkeys tending about 5 youngsters. They were blocking my path and, having been smacked by a Canadian goose before, I slowed to a crawl and talked "nicely" to the adults. They soon herded their children off back into the woods.
