Waiting for new Brooks saddle

It arrived today!! I've applied a liberal amount of Proofide. I wish I could ride it tonight, but, alas, I have too much to do if we are going away for the weekend (not to ride bikes, either... sigh...). It sure is beautiful. I'll let you know how it goes.

I couldn't resist. I blew through the pile of work on my desk today like a woman possessed! I got home early and MDH (bless his heart) had already installed my saddle, leaving it just loose enough for me to make the final adjustments. A quick change out of work clothes, and a off I went. I can't say it was love at first sit--I really have a BONY bum (and my tailbone would appreciate its own little divot), but I'm not sore, and not smooshed like I was on the cutout saddle I had before. My spine isn't making its usual complaints, either. The Brooks does make me very aware of my posture, and not slumping into the saddle. I think we're going to make a good pair (and it looks very smart on my dark green and black bike...) So far, so good. Only about 11 or so miles, but it's a start.

Tonight I got some bike shorts (my first ever!) – Shebeest sss. I love them! I must've tried on 10 different pair before I tried these on. They fit perfectly – which is amazing given all the different sizes and shapes of women's bodies. I tried several different Pearl Izumi shorts, which are the favorite of my cycling buddy, Pattie, but they were awful for me. Now I can't wait to get back on my bike.
