    2008 or 2009 bike?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I have decided that the fit and feel of a FELT bike is best for me. The question that remains is this: the 2009 bike is $30 more expensive than the 2008 bike. Am I better off to go with the 2009 or will 2008 be fine as well? Since the diffence is so little I don't know what the benefits are. I was thinking the $30 could go towards accessories/spacers/adjustments if I go with the 2008. Thanks for you opinions!

    Componentry

Are all the components exactly the same on both bikes? Often, manufacturers will up- or downgrade components from year to year.

Other than that, which one do you intuitively like better? Go with your gut...or go and test ride them both again..

what bikes are you looking at?
I'm a Felt dealer and can give you a bit of insight. As for an 08 being only 30.00 less. I would press them for a better deal as the 2010's are starting to hit the market. So the 09's will be marked down soon.
Within my bike manufacturers it seems they have a bit more product in certain area's that they are "heavy" on.
that being said, now that I think about it I don't think Felt has too much dead product in their warehouse. So you may not find the smokin' deals with them. But you never know??

    2008 or 2009

I am looking at the FW35 or ZW30 bikes. Since you are a dealer what would you recommend as the better of the two bikes in the separate years 08 or 09? Thanks for your advice. It is appreciated.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. The 35 is the 2008 and the 30 is the 2009.

The 2008 FW35 has FAR better components than the 2009 ZW30. 105 is much better than the Sora & Tiagra.

For bikes with the same original retail ($1099), they really downgraded the components on the 2009. That's probably why the shop hasn't lowered the price of the 2008 that much. Still, you should be able to get a couple hundred bucks off, especially since, as RunningMommy noted, the 2010 models will be out soon.
