Chris, if you ever come up here for a visit, I am going to buy you dinner.
Great ride report. Glad you're okay.

"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
Holy moly, that has to be one of the best/worst stories I've heard!
My ride: I had a 7 am meeting, so only had time for a short one, so I set out for my 9ish mile route. I decided to focus on my speed. I had a headwind for some of the way and for whatever reason felt like I didn't have much in me, but I did my best. As I was on the home stretch I thought "boy, this ride seems *awfully* short!". Thought it was just a different perspective after doing my first 20 miler on Sunday. So I get home and check the GPS (handhelt unit I just throw in my Camelbak to track mileage & speed) and it says I did 7.5 miles. Huh? So I go to log it on mapmyride.com and realize I completely left out a section of my route! DUH!
just the daily commute to work at 2 in the afternoon. can you even imagine what 115 degree riding is like???? fortunately its only six miles. but sunday we rode the 18 miles home from church at noon. madness.
