I had a "Betty" a few years ago, that I bought for a cycling trip. It looked awesome with a skort, but there was some type of fold of material around the neck/shoulders/zipper that had very itchy seams. It's a little hard to explain; sort of like a yoke that was only on the inside. I finally had to throw it out. I wore it, tried to soften it, etc. but it made me actually break out in welts.
Maybe they have redesigned it so I can get another????

Will do! The text said to order up a size, so I got the Small. If they are sized like junior sizes, the XS would be too small on me. The length may be an issue, but a lot of my jeans are low-cut, so it actually helps to have some longer tops that don't ride up and show belly!

I would check out the Betty jersey, too. I don't have it, but my guess is that it's similiar to the Veronica but with sleeves. I like both of these with this skort because they don't look too 'cycling jersey' like, if you know what I mean.

Or there is this one from Shebeest:

Ok, that gives me some ideas. The Betty looks drapier compared to the Shebeest. On a really humid day, that might be the way to go.

read in a trade mag recently that Georgina recently sold her majority interest in the company to a lady who used to run Vermont teddy bear.
I have to wonder how that will change the company. Georgina still has a presence in the company, but with someone else at the helm, it makes you wonder.
Hopefully the changes will be for the better. I haven't been too impressed with some of their designs the last few years. And their price points seem a bit high for some of their stuff.

I think some of her designs could use a face lift but I hope they continue to offer the racer skort that's designed like a kilt.

Crankin, wanted to follow up on the Terry (Ride Like a Girl) t-shirts as I got my and had a chance to try it on. As you know, I got the size Small, and it is a perfect fit on me, and I usually do take XS in jerseys such as Shebeest and Terry. I wouldn't want it any smaller. It's not baggy at all, not skin tight, just gently form-fitting. If it shrinks much, it might be a little on the tight side across the bust, so hopefully it won't. The raglan sleeves are short and flattering. It is, as you noted, on the long side. A little longer than I would choose ideally, but I'd rather that than too short to stay tucked into lower-rise jeans.

Anyway, I do like it quite a bit and am glad I got it, but I wouldn't have paid full price for it ($35 for a t-shirt is crazy!) At half price, it was a decent buy.

Thanks, Emily. I think that "longer than usual" would kill the deal for me. It ends up either pulled down over my hips, which is not flattering to me or bunched up around my waist.
I see the Betty is on sale this week!

    I know...nice timing, huh?

I just ordered the turquoise color Betty and one of the flared skorts. I wouldn't have bothered with the skort except that just last Thursday, Susan O was telling me that the fit was flattering and that it would probably suit my body type. I do find myself wearing more skorts lately, so maybe it was a smart purchase. We'll see once it arrives.

I received my Betty top and my skort last night.

    Review:
The Betty is REALLY cute. Better than I thought it would be, actually! I ordered the small (normally I'm a medium in Terry tops) because that was the largest size they had in the turquiose and that's the only color I wanted. I was prepared to send it back if it was too, too small. Suprizingly, it's wearable. It's tighter than I'd like, but it's not indecent. Once I get back to my 'fighting weight', it'll be perfect. The color is bright and beautiful and I love how it has two zippered pockets instead of just one (like on my older design Betty).

The skort is nice, too. I ordred the M because my cargo skort is a M. This skort seems to have the same issue as my cargo skort - the shorts appear to be larger than the skirt. Or, maybe it's just because I have big legs, big butt, but narrow hips and waist. So the shorts feel kind of big on me, but the skirt part could definitely NOT be any smaller and still lay right. I have not worn it on the bike yet, but again, the shorts appear identical to the cargo skort and I know that one works well for me for shorter rides (less than 50 miles). I was afraid that this skort would be too short to be worn comfortably in a restaurant or whatever, but it's really not. It comes a bit more than half-way down my thighs, so totally decent in length.

I give both pieces a 'thumbs up'.

Aside - how is it that I feel more comfortable in short, tight biking shorts than I do in a short skort with the same biking shorts underneath? Seems stupid - but shorts are obviously worn for the purpose of biking so I care less how they look to non-cyclists. These skorts look more like regular clothing and as such seem to need to be more 'presentable'. Or am I just weird?

GLC, I happened to find a Betty in a store and looked over it. I like how it is relaxed over the hips. Since this store was quite a distance from our home, I didn't buy it in case it didn't work out. I wanted to hear if you find the back yoke to be irritating. I think some have said it's itchy.

As for the skorts, yeah, I feel like I need to be a little more choosey with what I coordinate with it. The right top, shoes, socks....

I'm still thinking about that cargo skort and I'd like to get a Betty to go with it. Just waiting for the sale.

It was me who said the back yoke was itchy. I guess, from what you said, that yoke is still there. Too bad, because the Betty and Veronicas look great with skorts.

The flare skort looked *awful* on me. Generally wide waist bands are very flattering, but something was wrong with this on me. The pockets landed right on my hips, and that, combined with the flare made me look really bottom heavy. Most unflattering. I wore it 5-6 times last year and tried to sell it here, but had no takers. I brought it to Goodwill. I think it was just too big on me, which is weird, since it was an x small, the size I always wear in all Terry products.

I feel the same way about riding in a skort, especially when I am gliding along in my cargo skort, with it flying open. Yes, it is obvious that the shorts under it are for cycling, I still feel a little exposed as compared to wearing regular cycling shorts. I also think about what non-cyclists are thinking; why I don't know. That's why I bought the flare skort.

Re: Tulip's couch... *snork*... I love it...

Yea... I heard ya... I comment to myself, well... there's another "Satan Email" in my in-box lol. But I just can't wait to open it and see what's on sale!

I bought the "Bike Love" print in the single track jersey/top. I was so disappointed when the Bike Love print did not come out in my favorite Pop jersey cut. Or any full jersey at all. Plus, the did away with the Pop cut this year. Someone at Terry emailed me that will be back next season.

The only thing about stuff that doesn't sell well about the jersey is the back pocket imo. Other than that I love it. The pocket is one. It tends to gap and not be super secure. I think if it had one more seam to make it two... it would be better. Though it's not horrible.

The mesh idea for coolness has been great when I've worn it. Wish I had more now at sale price. Plus, I wore it to teach my Spinning class the other night indoors. Nice and cool. Plus, didn't look too "roadie-ish" for class. Definately get the $ outta it with all year long wear.

Hmmm, wonder what's on sale this coming Monday...

I just got the bike love sleeveless, too. Going to wear it today. Yes, the pocket looks small, but I'll just stuff extra stuff in my little bag.
I have 2 old Terry sleeveless jerseys that are very un-roadie looking. I wear them a lot when doing errands and even at yoga.
