My thistle shak arrived today and the color is much nicer than in the photo. More violet than I thought. The green and cranberry came earlier in the week, and they also are lovely. No buyer's remorse! But I won't be disappointed if it takes a LONG TIME before the weather gets cold enough to wear them!

Same here in Portland. Even on the hot days, I keep a shak at work so that I can deal with the A/C. I figure that makes my wool problem more understandable, right?....RIGHT?

I think GLC needs to get some sheep so she can spin her own wool. I wonder if they would get along w/the goats?

    Doesn't cashmere come from goats?

See the goat on the right? That's Buddy - he's a Pygora. Half angora goat (where mohair comes from) and half pygmy goat (hence his small size). We've collected one season of fleece - one more and I will have enough to knit something small. Of course, I need to learn to spin it first!

And yes, cashmere comes from goats. And oddly enough, angora comes from rabbits, not angora goats.

I love your goats, particularly Sass.
