    Great pics!
It is wonderful to see where other TE members ride.

When it stops raining here I will try to get some snaps on a ride.

Sorry pic-less. Tonight saw a doe, thought it was a dog at first - DGF said the heat must have gotten to me. A few days ago we saw 3 pheasants, saw a turkey last weekend.

These days, I see hawks because I can't stop watching them. The babies are around 10 weeks old; very soon they will be more mobile and not so easy to find. It's wonderful to have real photographers documenting my obsession.

These pics makes me miss NJ. :-(

I live in Vegas, so all you see is houses after houses, cars whizzing by, and the high rise buildings you see on the Strip.

I'm not a strong bike rider yet to head out to Red Rock (which I heard was a HUGE accomplishment to beat due to the high elevations), and other areas.

Sadly - no Wild Animals like I see in the East. :-(

I've been in south Georgia for 2 weeks, riding almost every day. I have a hilly 20 mile route and every time I've ridden I've seen something. Yesterday was the best. Coming home, about 5 miles away I hear the trees/bushes rustling. I hope and pray it's not a dog. The next thing I see is a huge doe bounding across the street to the other side of the woods. Holy crap, the first thing I thought of was, "imagine my luck, being broadsided by a deer". Off she went, too cool. Ten minutes later I see a huge black thing in the road. Hoping it's just tire tread, no joy, it's a king snake. Off he went as well. I really need to start bringing my camera.

I didn't take my camera with me today. I was out early so I saw the sun come up over the treetops. I saw chipmonks, squirrels, lots of turtles (one crossed the road in front of me), ducks, geese, several herons (1 stood about 100 feet from me in the edge of the water when I stopped for a snack. That's close for a heron. They used to fly away as soon as they saw me coming, but now they're getting used to me and don't fly away so much.) There were boat loads of summer school students on a field trip. A little boy (about 3 years old) fishing with his dad waved at me each time I rode by. Lots of other people wave and ask me how far I've ridden as I go by. A bee landed on my hand while I was riding. Thankfully, it only stayed there about a second!

Highlight of the ride tonight, is more in focus. Smoked salmon nestled in sourdough baguette with soft mozarella cheese ...yummmmm. You see basil, the little green bits are actually sea asparagus which is naturally salty. A substitute in place of capers.

Every cliche of our area (except for soaring old growth trees, harbour seal, bald-headed eagle ) is featured in these photos.

    I'm glad you asked!

I saw this guy on the Katy Trail on Monday. I had just picked up my new Canon G10. Love this camera! Oh and a lovely view of the Capitol of Missouri, (as viewed from the Katy Trail) where our Governor is trying to BLOCK the Tour of Missouri.

Shootingstar: I love the photo with the water. I like how the pink and green flowers in the foreground are such a constrast to the sleek buildings in the back.

there ARE wild animals where you live, you just haven't seen them yet!
After I saw your post, I went back to find the pictures of NJ but couldn't find any. I reread it and understand now what you were saying.

I posted these yesterday; but this is what I saw on my ride

I cross over Interstate 5 twice a day on most rides. The upper road is where I am going. No that is not a reflection of my bike

Since Washington does not have a bottle return law, we usually have glass to navigate around on our rides.

this is the view 1 mile or so from my house - Mount Rainier in all its glory

I rode to Regensberg, the little midevil Swiss town that AlpineRabbit introduced me to. Then I locked my bike in the woods and hiked 6 km to Hochwacht and Burghorn, along a lovely ridge with nice views. I'd post more pictures, but I've filled my quota until I delete some photos. I found ripe raspberries and ripe strawberries and had some treats.
