five one - I think the ideas that are helping me the most are 1) there are no off limits foods (makes everything 'bad' less desirable) and 2) the idea of the 'pause' before eating. I'm learning a lot about myself even though none of the concepts she presents are really new to me. I think its the approach that helps the most. Between that book and "In Defense of Food", I'm finding it a lot easier to make the right choices because I want to and not because I 'should'...you know?
Sounds like we are on the same page, so to speak, AND reading the same books. The 'pause' concept is what will probably help me the most - if I can just get into the habit of doing it. I tend to graze while cooking dinner and on any given day could eat a meal's worth of calories before sitting down to eat dinner. Maybe I'll make a bunch of labels that say, "Pause and think about it" and stick them to all my grazing foods.
