Ooh! Yarmouth Clam Festival is on the 19th... DH and I will be there racing in the morning and then eating fried clams afterwards! Let me know if we might be able to connect!

When I joined really had no expectation to meet anyone in person. It was more to be part of a female-centred cycling internet discussion group.

I have participated in previous bike forums elsewhere, where I met with 3, each woman in different situations/places. They were from: Toronto, Netherlands and New Mexico. Netherlands woman was doing a worldwide bike ride and was an esperanto enthusiast.

I've met one officially and another is close by(within 50 mi). I hope to see them again in the future on a ride or event somewhere. Jenn

I've only met two on purpose, but I bet I run across TE members all the time without knowing it.

I forgot--also I met Thorn, but I didn't know she was Thorn until after I spent a week riding with her.

I discovered 3 TE members here live less than 5 kms. near me, in different directions. Ironic to discover this via an international, American-dominant forum like TE. Otherwise we would be cyclists passing each other into the night.

You left out SadieKate! I haven't met you and Jobob, but I have a picture of you guys--plus SK--on my fridge from last year's Waves to Wine. BTW, are you doing that ride again this year?

I've met the Silvers multiple times (and Silver Son). The Silvers and I did the Horsey Hundred in 2008 together, along with susan.wells. Mr. Silver briefly introduced me to Makbike and Mr. SR500 after RAIN last year. I was in a post-ride fog, however, and it was kind of a blur.

SK is short for SadieKate .
Oooh, I made a funny, SK is also known as Short Sarah (or SS), so as not to be confused with Tall Sarah, or TS, aka maillotpois, or mp. I think I'm in trouble now ...

If it's the picture I'm thinking of, that's not me with SK & mp, btw. She's their friend (whose name I have momentarily forgotten, doh) who they formed their Waves to Wine team around.

I, on the other hand, manned the very first W2W rest stop with Team Snap (me, Lee, Veronica, Thom, aka_kim, BikerZ, and, of couse, snap) and spent that time trying to minimize the gawdawful traffic jam at that stop, by harping at people to move themselves and their bikes off the freakin' path. Oy. Happily, Team Snap will not be working that rest stop at this year's W2W, instead we'll be working the one up in Marshall, so everyone will not descend up on us all at once.

We might be able to do this. It would be fun to see you race and we don't have plans yet for that weekend.

Oh, now I see "SK" listed in the original list! I'm a little slow today! I could have sworn that the card I got from SK said that you were in included in the picture. The three women pictured are each straddling their bikes. So, if you were working the SAG, it makes sense that you aren't in the picture. Oh well; I like the picture all the same!

I've met two TE'ers so far (that I know of). Probably more without realizing it. One is IFJane, who lives about an hour up the road from me. Jane recruited me for her MS150 team this year! If not for Jane I probably wouldn't have signed up, and I certainly would not have had so much FUN!!

Hopefully you will come when summer finally decides to arrive in New England - it hasn't yet . Sunny today, but that's a rarity for us right now!

Our races are at 9:00 am on the 19th (Sunday). It's a totally fun scene in Yarmouth with the bike races, craft fair, rides, fried food as far as you can see...

Here's a link. I do hope you can make it - would be fun to meet you and Thom in person!

It's been added to our schedule of events. I'll PM you my cell so we can hook up after the race. Maybe Thom will even get some pictures.
