    The Toy Box

Kitties are so cute! I just watched my babies pulling various toys out of their box. Like little kids they played with each one for a bit, then moved on to another toy, carefully selecting it and pulling it out of the box. And just like little kids, I doubt they will pick up after themselves.

I have one of those boxes from clementines (it has a sort of carrying contraption on the top, so there are 4 holes in the top of the box) with all the kitty toys in it. They get a big kick out of fishing around through the holes to see what they can find.

We keep a picnic basket behind the recliner that has the toys and remains and toys that belong to the doggies. All the dogs that ever come here seem to gravitate to that basket. I can tell whether the dogs have been happy or not while I'm gone by the number of toys scattered throughout the house. I can tell whether they got interrupted by a distraction outside by the number of toys just inside the doggie door! They never take their toys outside, because outside is a toy all by itself.
