I hear the iphone is going to be opened up to Verizon (maybe others, but Verizon's all I heard about) next year. Had known this back in March when I got my iphone, I would have waited. I love my iphone but I'm quite disappointed with ATT.

Not a rumor, according to USA Today
It's almost 2010.
AT&T (T) has exclusive U.S. distribution rights to the iPhone into 2010, though specifics aren't known. The deal was struck in 2006, when the iPhone was still on the drawing board. Many telecom analysts expect AT&T to try to persuade Apple to extend the contract for another year, at least.

I have a Blackberry Curve and I like it a lot. I have not tried the Storm, but a friend just got one. I have yet to see it, but she tried out several of the Blackberrys and liked the Storm very much.

I just got a Blackberry Curve. I, too, wanted an iPhone but am holding out until Verizon gets them.
I decided that I wanted a real, raised tacticle keyboard so that's why I didn't go with the Storm.
Yea, my son has an Ipod Touch and I can't stand the keyboard on it. But I imagine I'll adapt when I get the Iphone, and use it a lot more.

I have a Storm. I upgraded from my Pearl in February. There was some getting use to it and reading the crackberry forums helped tweak its performance.
I'd say get it. It's almost as customizable as the Iphone.
