For shorter distances (1-5 miles) I'll typically wear just a pair of athletic shorts I bought at Target and some hipster panties.

For longer distances (6-26 miles-ha!) I'll wear my tri shorts. Sure, they are tight and the whole world can see my butt...but I'm comfortable, and I don't have to bother with stuff riding up. I figure if they don't like my butt, they don't have to look.

I'm working on ramping up my running miles after being off 6 weeks. Got a stress fracture at a marathon on 5-16-09. It's been painful to start running again to say the least. Any run fitness I had is gone. I also speed walk and that's gone too.

Ran 4 miles of hills on Monday.... yyyeeeaaaaahhhhhh... my hamstrings started hurting at mile 2. They are still sore today (Wed). Then I got this odd pain in my left ankle. Ugh. My body is falling apart! Legs were extremely fatigued on Tuesday as well from the run.

How I can go from being in shape for a marathon to barely able to run 4 miles without my body falling apart... I'll never know. Going to be a fight to get back into running shape.

    +1

Mile repeats today ... but only two. I was sore and tired from last night's aerobics class plus climbing up and down the ladder trying to reinforce my garden fence.

    4.34 miles total.

3+ miles after work last night...nice evening, 80 degress, low humidity. Still jogging slooooowly. Did a little speed work, lifting knees, etc. That did feel better than my "shuffle". I love how you feel after a run......

Ran 7miles this morning in a thunderstorm. Not a complete downpour, but steady rain mixed with wind. Some thunder & lightning at the beginning too, it was exciting!

Not my fastest Thursday morning run, but it was a good run.

Kacie- WOOHOO!!! Glad to hear you are back running, taking it easy and try to build up slowly even though I'm sure that's very hard.

Oh, thanks for the shorts suggestions! I like running in my Zoot tri-shorts, that fit and length is really comfortable for me, but obviously I don't need the chamois when I'm not doing a tri. So I think I'm on the hunt for something like that. Has anyone tried the Zoot runfit shorts?

I bought a cheapo pair of athletic shorts that I love... they remind me of the old gym shorts I had in high school. Loose and airy. Sometimes I run in knickers/tights. Because I get hot fast, I like running in wicking tops.

I ran 3 miles this morning, hilly.
I can do five more miles.

I tried to run three miles yesterday but only made it two... It was under the blazing mid-day sun and I'm pretty sure I was a little dehydrated. There was no finishing that one.

I did an hour-long trail run/walk today (running for longer and longer, with decent form, between walking breaks!). Lots of mud and puddles, which were fun to run through :-). Also lots of bugs--not so fun . My herbal repellent concoction kept most of the mosquitoes away but something else bit me a couple of times.
