Hey Grog,

Hope you liking Vancouver. Let me know if you start racing and how that goes. I'm hoping for a seperate category soon too. I guess unless more women show up, they don't see a need to split the cats.

Runnergirl,

I read some of your previous posts of your races and was really inspired by your experiences. Women's racing is virtually non-existent here and while it's awesome to see the ladies out there, I sure don't want my race to be with a national pro. Eeek! But I've come to realize that if I want to race, this is the scene and I've got to work with it. The riding season is drawing to an end here with probably a good two weeks before club rides finish. I wanted to join a club this year but wanted to get better first. I think I'm good enough to keep up with the club and will absolutely join them next year. The club I'm thinking about has a learn to race program and also has a few female racers.

How did you feel about racing in the open category? In some of the races here, if you get lapped, you get pulled. I think that's crazy but apparently is done for safety reasons. I am SO impressed you raced in the open cat and it soundsl like it was fun.

Thanks for the feedback!
