    Non-shiny shorts

    Hi Ladies!

New here but not to cycling - does anyone have a source for shorts that are not shiny? Nashbar used to sell some but don't anymore. I've done a search here & other places but don't seem to be having much luck - would prefer not to wear baggy mtn bike shorts or a skort but sometimes just not in the mood to wear my lycras!

    Thanks!!

You don't want to wear baggy shorts, a skort, or formfitting lycra shorts? What's left? Capris? A prom dress? Sorry, but I'm not following you.

Presumably her lycra shorts are shiny, and that's why she's looking for non-shiny ones. Sorry, can't help though

    So, matte-finished lycra is OK?

Both Shebeest and Terry have lycra shorts that have a matte finish, at least they used to. Best bet is to call the super nice staff at Team Estrogen for the fabric in 2009 models. It's so hard to see fabric finish in a website photo.

Now that I'd like to see. With red shoes of course!

As for the OP, my fave shorts are the Sugoi RS short. I wouldn't call them shiny.

I have a pair of Giordana Tenax that are matte.

Thanks! This is just the info I was looking for - should have used the matte finish description instead of non-shiny! Now I'm off to figure out how to put cleats on the bottom of my heels to wear with my cycling prom dress!

Terry T-shorts. They're made of Dryline material rather than the shiny lycra.

Just make sure the prom dress is not shiny!

I second the Terry T-shorts. I have the T-short Longs, and definitely not shiny.
The chamois is nice for all rides under 30 miles for me. Longer than that i have other long distance shorts for.
