Congratulations, salsa, you did awesome. Not walking is a HUGE mental victory - I know it was for me (and honestly, still is in every sprint triathlon). Love the pictures, especially the ice bath.

Super Athena - I love that idea.

    WAY TO GO, SALSA!!!!!!!

Great report, great race and great progress you've made! You look happy and fabulous! Glad everything went so well. Come on up next week and do Padden with me!

Oh... and the ice bath thing.... NO WAY! That just looks horrible to me.
BTW: You have SUCH a clean bathroom!

    what a story!
You look like you had a great time, even in the ice tub.
Congrats! You are doing amazing things, even with that dumb heart rate monitor slowing you down!

    Great race!!!

You've set some challenging goals for yourself and you are meeting them. With FM and RA and that weight loss - I am delighted for you that you had such a good race.

I too, love cool cloudy weather.
Can't wait to hear about your next race.

Thanks, all. Re wearing those socks in the ice bath: I was the kind of little kid who would cry when her feet and hands got too cold in the repellent Albany NY winters I grew up in. I KNEW I had to keep my toes from feeling the full wrath of the ice cubes if I was ever going to make that ice bath work.

AND....take heart, Jessica--someone else cleans that bathroom twice a month! Otherwise it wouldn't look nearly that clean, you may be sure. Lake Padden next year? I will want to hear how it goes next weekend.

Mimi, the HR monitor was meant to help me keep my pace slow enough so that I wouldn't run out of cardio capacity on the run too early. It did its job. I have a long way to go to build a real running base, so...I'm ready to work on.

I love triathlon. I love triathlon training. I really do. Sick sick sick.
