We saw a wonderful scratching tower with sissel rope at Petsmart for $129. I am sure that is cheaper than unneccessary surgery for poor little Tuffy. I found a site on what they really do when declaw for my mom to send her sister. It is expensive and awful. The cat is 3 months old and has yet to start scratching anything. He does bite some and that is a bit problematic for my 92 year old Mammaw but they aren't suggesting he get his teeth removed.

I'm happy to say that Foster as he's now known, is so very happy with at his new forever home. I'm glad I was a part of this journey.

...Maybe a new formidable set of choppers for Mammaw so she can bite back?

You did a wonderful thing. You know my Nanny had a male boss with a last name Foster but everyone called him that. What an adorable little guy and lucky to have briefly known you!

    Meet LUNA!

I have a "puppy" again finally!

Meet Luna (I think that's going to be her name anyway). She's a ~4yr old Border Collie x Australian Cattle Dog. Smart as a whip and HERDY! Man, this dog has more cow than any of my "cow horses" ever dreamed of having. She was found as a stray in Utah and shipped to Colorado where I picked her up from my local humane society.

She's already made herself at home and seems to really love ear rubs. She'll even flop over with her head in my lap if I hit the right spot (after only 2 hrs out of the shelter!).

I'm gonna have an energy/herding challenge on my hands, but I'm looking forward to it, and I think she'll encourage me to get out and do more. Seriously thinking about trying agility. I think she could jump the Moon if you hung a tug toy from it!!

Oh, beautiful dog!! Sounds like you two were made for each other.
My new kitty Suki flops over on her back too when you rub her ears just right....and then she gets a belly rub. I know how endearing this is in a newly adopted 'baby'.
I bet you are 'over the moon' with joy over 'Luna'. She's soooo gorgeous.

MartianDestiny, Luna is beautiful! She should meet my Shiloh (although I think he's Border Collie and English Setter).

Wow Tulip! They could be siblings, though your Shiloh looks a bit bigger.

I think you'll have to do agility, not thinking, just do!
She'll love it. She'll also get in a lot less trouble if you keep her mind and body occupied.

Yes, I do believe you are correct.

The "thinking" has more to do with trying to decide which avenue to try first: agility, frisbee competitions (she already does the half backflip, turn in mid air, and catch trick on her own...), or trying to find somewhere she could actually herd.

First and foremost will be some obedience classes though.

Today she decided the water bowl was for her to stick her foot in and paw and I got to mop the floor .

    Wink Are bikes pets?

I do not have a geographically or financially stable enough life to warrant getting pet(s) yet but I do have bikes! Bikes are like pets, right? You love them, take care of them, take them out for rides and in return they serve you well. Sometimes we rescue ones that other have discarded. Some of us name them.

I can't wait to get a dog, though But for now, I only have bikes...
