Wow- congrats on a great race! I loved reading your report and seeing the pictures as I read along. I'm so happy for you for besting your times from last year. I agree with racing Athena. The women in my age group (35-39) are crazy fast, so if Athena is an option, I'll do that. Even tho there are a lot of Athena racers who are tiny, but very tall. One girl beats me every time. She's 5'10" and is 155, so she races Athena (but she's a size 4 and quite fit).
I suppose I should be in the Super Athena division. 
Anyway- I digress. Congrats on a really great race!!!!

Great job! My times are likely to be similar to yours when I do my sprint tri later this summer. It seems to me that as one gets older, the age groups get more competitive. I guess women don't decide on a lark to do a tri when they're in their 50s, so it's mostly the fit women who sign up, along with a handful of folks like you and me who do it for the fun and challenge.

Congratulations, salsa, you did awesome. Not walking is a HUGE mental victory - I know it was for me (and honestly, still is in every sprint triathlon). Love the pictures, especially the ice bath.
Super Athena - I love that idea.

Oh... and the ice bath thing.... NO WAY! That just looks horrible to me.
