    Selle Italia SLR Lady saddle

After some significant chafing I went and got remeasured with the famous ***-o-meter. Found out my 143 ruby is a little too narrow for my 150+ hips (thanks mom!). Wanting a little more padding than the ruby I found the slr lady and ordered it. I hope I love it and that will be it. Anyone have success? I actually had the men's version and loved it, although I hung over the sides.

I actually had one long enough to wear it out! Which is more than I can say for the other ~20 I've tried. When I re-ordered, I went w/the Diva, mainly because I'd been curious to try it, and I found a good deal on one on Ebay. It's got a little more padding than the SLR Lady, though, which bugs me, so I'll probably go back to the SLR when the Diva wears out.

Thanks Andrea, by the way, congrats on the adventure race win. I just got back into the mtb thing. Getting dirty is fun and getting old sucks.

    Love mine!

I have one and really like it. It has just enough padding to be comfy for loooong rides, but it's definitely not squishy. I'm actually looking for another one for my new bike- that stock saddle just isn't gonna cut it! (P.S., let me know if anyone's looking for a brand-new Selle San Marco Glamour Aspide!)

Anyone know where you can get one that allows a return/try-out period? My LBO does not carry it. They do carry the Bontrager Inform (90-day return period), so I have ordered one of those but I would also like to try the SI SLR Lady Gel Flow. Has anyone dealt with ebikestop.com? It appears that they might have a 30-day return period.

I just got the saddle today and it looks promising. It actually looks sizewise like the ruby but more padding and a little rounder. The cutout is right where it needs to be. I am hoping for long rides without chafing. I am leaving saturday morning for my house in Georgia, lots of time to try it. I bought it on ebay for $135 and this guy has a 14 day return policy. Hope I don't need to return it. I think just by looking at it, I will keep it. Will update once I ride.

On the custom bike build kits I sell with my frames, this saddle has been the most popular choice. I have a different saddle on each of my personal bikes (er, research write-off), but the hours I have spent on this one have been happy ones.

Took it out this morning, 10 miles around the hood. Too hot for more. I played with the nose up/down and had to slide the whole thing forward but the good news is I like it. iIdon't have the shooting pain up the right side of my back or chafing. I guess the nose on the ruby was too narrow. I'm definitely keeping it. I hate the pink stitching but, oh well. A good saddle, I don't care about the color. Thanks for the input.

I have found the saddle a new home after continued chafing on the left side. Does anyone believe that chafing is caused by a too wide or narrow saddle? Which has it been in your experience. I am trying to assess what I need. I measured for a 155 ruby and might try that but it looks WIDE in the nose. I know when I had a men's SLR (very narrow) I got those awful blood blisters/saddle sores. That saddle is the only one that caused those. After measurements, the 143 ruby is close..but. All I know is I am sick of my crotch giving up before my legs.
