Hi...I'm new on this forum. Just wanted to chime in regarding the Cobb saddles. I recently purchased a 2008 Cervelo Soloist Carbon road bike and during my bike fit, there was a Cobb V-Flow saddle on the fit cycle. I liked it okay enough to have the stock seat on my new bike swapped out for the V-Flow Plus...thinking that if I liked the V-Flow, then perhaps I would like the Plus even more. WRONG! I put on close to 300 miles on the V-Flow Plus, before finally begging my hubby to take that torture device off of my bike and put on my old Terry Butterfly Tri Gel saddle instead. I promptly returned the Cobb saddle to the shop where I purchased my bike from, for a refund. Something about that saddle did NOT agree with my butt at all! I had the most incredible pain in my sit bones after even shorter rides of 40 miles or less. The last ride I did with the Cobb saddle on, was 75 miles and I was in total agony from about mile 30 on....literally brought to tears.

The interesting thing is...on my old bike (a Trek 2100 WSD), the Terry saddle was giving me some chafing problems from the nose of the saddle. Hence, the reason I was looking to try a different saddle on the new bike. But once we put the Terry saddle on the new bike, it suddenly felt great again. My sit bones were happy again, and very little to no chafing. So...what does this all mean? Well, my Trek bike was too big for me...so perhaps the fact that the bike did not fit me properly, was causing the saddle issues I was having with the Terry on it. But now that I have a bike that is properly sized for me, the Terry turned out to be the much more comfortable saddle over the highly-touted Cobb V-Flow Plus. Last Sunday, I rode 104 miles on my new Cervelo with the Terry saddle and aside from the "normal" aches & pains one would get from riding that kind of distance, I was a happy camper. Just my .02 cents worth.

    Linda
