Excellent! I'm going shopping today and see how far I get. I'll reach out if I get stuck with uploading. Thanks for the tip!

My only caveat would be that GTC for Mac is not identical to GTC for Windows. Each has pros and cons.

The #1 drawback to GTC for Mac, IMO, is that you can't see point data (e.g., at such and such point on the map, my elevation was 1234 feet, my speed was 18.5 mph, the grade of the hill was +4%). I use both, actually - GTC for Windows and SportTracks (Windows only) both run fine under Parallels.

yeah I agree oakleaf. GTC is much nicer on a PC. But I'm finding the new Garmin Connect site has a lot more choices and let's me see info that couldn't on GTC.

I use third party software called Ascent.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Another Ascent user. Much better than the Garmin software.

Only thing I use the Garmin software for is to upload workouts to my Forerunner 305.

Have you tried MB's new Garmin Connect website? It's free and has a number of nice new features that aren't available on MB including access to ALL of your workouts, not just last 10.

And to the others. Is Ascent free Mac software? Does it have better features than Garmin Connect? Maybe I should just google it...

Ascent is something like $39 US. I haven't tried to compare them in a long time. One thing I really like on Ascent is I can get my speed, pace, or HR overlayed onto my route and see what I was doing at any particular moment.

Well, got the Garmin 305 Edge and did my first ride with it today. Now, I'm going to tackle uploading and looking at the data. I think I will use MotionBased with the Garmin Communicator for MAC.

Yes, I need to try it. I swear I set up a log in once. Does it transfer your history over?
