Thanks, BleeckerSt Girl! Everyone (friends and hospital staff) all asked if I was wearing a helmet. I don't think I would ever get on a bike without one. You're right - I guess the helmet took the brunt of the fall. I needed to get a new one anyway to match the color of my bike.
