I was up in Albany, NY this weekend to do my Tour de Cure ride and to visit relatives there. We needed to move something from their garage into my car. As we were heading back into the house through the garage my eyes caught on a Nishiki mixte sitting in their garage. I immediately asked who's it was and was told that my cousin's husband had given it to them for their oldest daughter. I told them to NOT EVER get rid of it without talking to me, that it was a classic. I don't know if it will ever come my way, but hopefully it won't go to a garage sale or landfill.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Why didn't you just ask for it? Offer them some cash. They might just be willing to part with it.

I know that some people might think that's tacky, but doesn't it appear to be unused and neglected? What good is it sitting in the garage??

    Opinions please....

It was listed in the sporting goods and not in the bike section... thinking that no one will notice it...
Thinking about heading over tomorrow. I have wanted one for a while and so far that is a heck of a price and it looks super clean. May be a tad small but can't hurt to go look right? I love the icy blue color too!

That's a BEAUTIFUL Nishiki. I'd definitely go check it out. Not a bad price (I think). What a pretty color.

Yeah thats what I am thinking too...its just too clean.
I like the color too! Here is some similar ones I found on line. Looks like an 84 Nishiki Sport.
It needs a nice carmel color Brooks, leather grips and a basket and I am set!
Thanks for the quick reply...I will keep you posted. -Nic
