No one ever said cyclists were a class act

    Received this email this week:

    Fellow cyclists,

In an effort to further its reputation as a bicycle friendly city, the City of Holladay has placed a porta-potty on the east side of Wasatch Blvd at approximately 5800 South. This facility was placed as a convenience for the growing number of cyclists on Wasatch Blvd.

Let’s all show the City of Holladay that we appreciate their efforts by using the porta-potty instead of the bushes of the residences along Wasatch.

Please share this email with any and all cycling groups.

I can think of several gas stations etc along & at the end of Wasatch Blvd. This is not a rural area, the thought of using residential bushes is baffling! Not sure if that's what really drove the installation of the porta-potty or if that was just a comment inserted for effect by the sender of this email.

I just looked at the area on google maps. Like the dutchess said, there are gas stations not far, but on the satelite it looks mostly uninhabited, but not far from civilization. If you look at 5872 Wasatch Blvd, there's a blurry thing off the road that may be the subject of that ms. Or maybe it's a residence.

The road looks pretty nice, and you can see the bike lane marks. Maybe I'll go for a ride there sometime.
