    CONGRATS YELLOW!!!

Yesterday morning dawned a cool 50 degrees with high fog, so jumped out of bed and headed out for a run. Approx. 8.25 miles at approx. 8:30 pace. It felt GOOD! Felt strong throughout even though I headed out on an empty stomach and didn't eat or drink during the run. And this after two full weeks sans running. Looking forward to finishing strength training at the end of July so that I can start marathon training again.

Now, I'm off to read Yellow's blog!

Woohoo YELLOW!!! 50k in under 6hrs is very respectable! Read the RR. way to stay strong when it got tough. Crazy how things like hydration can effect a race so much. Have a happy recovery!

After my 5miler on Thursday & a 7hr drive to the North Shore my left knee wasn't really happy with me so I took it easy for a few days & only went out for one run this weekend. A short 4.5 mile trail-run. Haven't run on trails in forever so that was a blast. Unfortunately there was a "welcome back" banquet at the Marina our family has their sailboat docked at and I wasn't wise enough to do my run before instead of after that. As you may have guessed, stomach contents were very sloshy. When will I ever learn my lesson? Still glad I ran, but looking forward to better timed training sessions this week.

T-minus 18days until the HIM. I'm trying not to freak out. Feeling a little ill prepared for bricking it all together & it hasn't been warm enough here to try out the wetsuit before the race. As long as I finish though, that's the goal. And I get to stop by a store that sells Vibram Five Fingers on the way home from the race as my reward. Really looking forward to trail running with those!!

Anywho, Hope you all had a great weekend!

WOW... YELLOW! 50K! Congrats! Glad it went well and you didn't fry out there!

I finally quit working so much and decided to work out over the weekend. It had been 7 full days since I did anything active. It's been SO long since I've taken that much time off. And I can TELL!!!!!

Did a 7.5 miler on Sunday -- over at our cabin in Twisp, WA. HOT for me, and a bit higher elevation. Our cabin sits in a river valley, so anywhere you go is UP. UP I went! Saturday I mtn biked UP for an hour (back down and home in 15 minutes) and Sunday I just jogged (and hiked) UP for 50 minutes, then down and home to total 90 minutes. Whoa... HOT HOT HOT for me! It's the eastern side of the mtns here, and in the spring is about 10-20 degrees hotter than where I normally run! I'm sore today, but glad I got it done. A week made a huge difference, sadly! Good news... no calf pain! The massages and hard work are doing the trick!
