    I'd agree with 100-150. If the bike was well taken care of, then it's still a beast of a beginner mtb. That was my first mountain bike as well. It had good components that took a beating and didn't fold. The frame is good too-- this is a bike that would be worth tricking out if he really liked mountain biking.

    Originally sold for about $450. I'd offer $75. Low end bikes just don't hold their value.
