triple.. you really think i could climb up to onyx on a double after being on the bike only 9 months????????????

i have no ego issues with my triple! it's been good to me! and enabled me to do a lot of stuff i wouldn't have been able to do with a double!

hmmm... I wondered but heck, you're superwoman! LOL... I am trying to decide if I should switch to a triple to do some of the harder rides... Cool Breeze was even tough with a double. I made it but I worked HARD. That climb to Montecito was fairly steep in some sections...

Did you gear down at Cool Breeze into your 3rd ring? Does it make a big difference for you?

did i gear down at cool breeze? with all that climbing (remember... i did the double metric!) of COURSE i did! lol!

and this past weekend on latigo canyon.... i was ready to call it quits before 20 miles (i wish i had found out my brakes were rubbing BEFORE i got to 79 miles!)

heck... there are days here in the desert.. when the wind is blowing.. and i'm going slightly uphill... and i don't want to blow out my knees.. i'll go down to the triple just to keep my cadence up in the 90's or as high as i can depending on the grade or wind speed!

i can do our climb to the "gate" in my lowest double.... but there are days when i'm not feeling up to it or i've been working to hard... and my knees say... baby gear time!....

i did our climb to key's view totally in the double.. but it wasn't 100 miles! i was so jazzed when i reached the top! lol! i'm getting stronger... but then... it's been over a year now! so i'd better be!

OH... and i learned the hard way... NO LEG WORKOUTS AFTER TUESDAY on big ride weeks! i forget which ride i did that for... did leg drills wednesday morning and was still sore saturday for whatever ride we did! ugh! dummy!!!!!

ron smith jr just got a triple! he was mentioning it at cool breeze and hubby especially told him to go for it! he got one and has been riding it! beanz's new bike has a triple!

me..... i figure.. i'm not getting any younger!

another option is a compact... but you loose upper end on those... with my particular riding (liking the bigger climbs.. but also the downhills and flats....) a compact would cause me to spin out too soon
