    Jenny's murderer gets death penalty

The sick monster who murdered Jenny Ewings on the Silver Comet Trail while she was cycling received a death sentence today. I wonder if now I'll be able to ride out there alone. Oddly, I think I can.

Thank you, Jenny, for making sure he couldn't hurt anyone else and for fighting as hard as you did. I think of you every time I'm out there.
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.

That's great news! I did some digging a few months back and didn't find anything so thanks for the update and safe riding.

    Pedal Wench -

I think of her every time I ride over the bridge. I did not know her, but acknowledge her each time I pass for her courage, spirit and bravery. She was doing what we all love to do in a beautiful place and a "monster" destroyed her. The serenity of the trail has never felt the same to me.

I have noticed on the weekends the Paulding County sheriff's department is visible traversing their stretch in a golf cart.

I continue to ride on the trail because of its beauty and wide, open stretches. The smell of the honeysuckles has been incredible the past two weekends.

Small justice. Glad at least there was some in this case.

Thanks much for the update. I do still think of Jenny, tho I didn't know her, I feel as if I did.
Hopefully the fund raising we did here awhile back helped someone, somewhere.

    Ride safe all

I've never heard of this horrible case before. I just read all the awful details. I hope this conviction gives her family peace and closure. What a monster.

I don't get comfort from the sentence but I do get comfort from the conviction.

But I also heard that she fought like a woman - hard - and that's the biggest comfort of all.

    Rest in peace, Jenny.
