well I was one of the dumb newbies. Im a little slow on web things ( its the ADD I think combined with utter exaustion). I had no idea what the FAQ was,to be sure. I was asking about chafing and got into saddles.

You aren't dumb. There's nothing in the FAQ that says "search before asking questions." Some groups do communicate that in one way or another; others don't. I'd be very surprised if the people who run this group want the cranky attitude of old Usenet days. This forum is, after all, a marketing tool.

In addition, there's a section for "New Riders" which implies that beginners are welcome. Welcoming beginners would of necessity include welcoming beginner questions.

Searching before posting is a good idea; but there are valid reasons for asking questions again, and there is nothing that I can find in the FAQ that says "don't ask anything that might have been asked before." No one is forced to provide an answer if they don't want to, after all.
