An issue. I am surprised this is not addressed more often by shoe and pedal manufacturers and retailers. Hot foot is really no fun.

I struggle with the problem. I bought super huge and wide shoes for my feet and road them very loose. That helped my feet a lot, but produced toe overlap on my bike. (mtb shoes and pedals on a road bike.)

I have switched to a road shoe and a road pedal to eliminate toe overlap, but am not completely satisfied. My feet are not completely comfortable. I am working on the insole/metatarsal button end of things now. Problem is I have a WIDE foot and the buttons take up too much room.
