It was raining this morning, then my brother took me out for lunch, so I thought I was done after that Capresi sandwich. I only ate half at the restaurant, thought I'd eat the other half for dinner it made it 'til 3. At 4pm, I surprised myself by pumping up the tires. Before I knew it, I was at Brenton Pt.
The fog was amazing! The fog horns were blowing loudly out at the point. It's rocky out there, and dangerous for ships. Mist covered everything, even my sweater. I had to stop to wipe off my glasses. People were like ghosts out on the rocks. There were still kites flying, even though you could hardly see them in the white sky.
I was planning on just doing my shortest loop, but when I was at the turn, I went down the hill, and added another 9 miles. At the bottom of the hill, a carnival was in full swing in the beach parking lot. Kids were screaming on the rides, and I imagine it must have been even scarier with the fog smudging the line between sky, ocean and ground.
Tomorrow we're supposed to have 40 mph winds. Pretty sure I'll give my bikes a bath and not ride.
