    hmm. lmao @ 38 long...
so... shall I be passing around the duct tape ladies? maybe extra strength to hold through the sweat?
seriously though... there needs to be a super cheap form of plastic surgery to pick the ladies back up so I can function without bras even around the house. and especially wearing a sports bra!
think I can lobby for it?

i took a quick break from a really bad work day to poke about these email threads, and laughed out loud at your reference to "the girls." Me too!

and Title 9 has the best selection of sports bras (esp for D and above) I've found

    victoria's secret

Who'd have thunk it, but somebody here recommended a sports bra at VS. Might not work for you endowed ladies, but for B'ish cup, it's fabulous. No underwire but good support and the cups are separated so you avoid the uniboob look. I got one, tried it for a couple of months and bought another. can't recall the exact name, but just ask the salespeople to show you their sports bras and you'll no doubt see it.

I have a different problem - I'm a 42B!! Not all the big girls have....big girls! Someone tell that to the bra manufacturers. Sports bras that fit my chest leave enough "pockets" for a cell phone PLUS a ham sandwich and a paperback novel. I don't often give my DH the "you don't know how lucky you are" speech, but I did last night after a bra-shopping marathon...and coming home with ONE! bra.

hmm. that's a good point too. but, look at the bright side, if you want to avoid sweat, they left you room to stick a washcloth in there too! (gotta be a silver lining, right?) I hadn't thought of that point. That would be frustrating.
My butt's like that. HUGE butt. Little waist. Jean shopping is an experience, cause I'm also 5'10".
I think that some of the things they come up with MUST be made by men. They have to be. They design things that they'd like to see women wear, because real women surely wouldn't think that although sports bras are comfy, that when you provide no support at all... it doesn't help the problem much.
But still, where would we shop? I don't want to shop at the 'odd women's clothing store' nor would anyone else. and online shopping when you're an odd fit is a no!
i guess we're just outta luck.

I'm a big fan of both the Moving Comfort Maia bra as well as the Enell bra. For cycling I don't usually bother with the Enell, but for running it was a must. The Moving Comfort works great for me for cycling. Haven't stored anything in there though -- it's already too full!

My beef about sports bras is why are they so darn small!?! I keep buying size Small since I am a pretty small gal (34B bra, 4 Petite in clothes, 104 lbs), and they are tight as all get out. I recently sold two on eBay because I could barely get them on, and I just ordered another one (Contessa di Roma, I believe) in a size 34 - and it's also TINY!

These are just the basic stretchy sports bras with racer-backs, nothing too fancy. I just don't understand why they don't cut them a little larger. I am a size Small in everything else, even an XS in some items, yet I must need a 36 or Medium sports bra. Why is that??

    Emily-
cool thing about the Moving Comfort Fiona is that it's adjustable and has eye hooks in the back so you don't have to mamba your way into it. Sweet for those of us that are a little Frankensteined together and/or have no rythym whatsoever.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

Hey Emily - good to hear its not just me. I ordered a bra online and when it arrived I must have looked a treat trying to get myself into the tiny thing.
I just assumed when you were a 34B thats what you should order, apparently not.

I wear a 40 D or DD (depending on the bra and the time of month). I've been buying Champion sports bras for the last three years - they're made in the USA. I may have to forgo my local manufacture ethos and get something a little more supportive than a compression style sports bra. There are several available that have real cups that look like good choices. If I get something new I'll report back on how it works out!

I've built tanks and tops with shelf bras in them, and I've made corsets - but I haven't ever tackled anything with cups so I don't think I"ll be trying to make my own any time soon....

Amazing timing on this topic, as I've been replenishing the sports bra stock! I'm a fan of Moving Comfort, but happened to be looking at the Champion website this afternoon, as I was curious to know more about the one I'd seen in (breast cancer) "Survivor Pink" at the store the other day.

Champion bras usually max out at a C-cup in stores, but their website offers sizes up to 46DD. Who knew?? And, bonus, all of their bras are on sale right now for $19.99.
