A generator light might work for you.
I couldn't find a better photo right now but it mounts on the front fork something like this. (scroll)

Hi everyone! I hope I'm posting this in the right place.
I am fairly new to biking, so forgive me if I'm asking something obvious, but I didn't find anything in a search.
I am biking to and from work and to various stores near my home. I have a Wald quick-release mesh front basket (This one: http://www.waldsports.com/index.cfm/...eshbasket.html ) and I am having a heck of a time with a headlight. This is a real issue for me right now, since I think since I got my bike I have yet to ride when it's NOT dark out!
It's not the best picture of what's going on with my handlebars, but this is the only picture I have online right now: http://21daystopangie.files.wordpres.../11/bikers.jpg
(And that's my dad in the picture with me. Us in our bike gear with our bikes. Aren't we cute?)
Anyway, my headlight isn't anything stellar to begin with. It's actually something that doubles as a flashlight and it straps onto the handlebar. I could easily move this elsewhere if there's anywhere else that would be a good place to put it.
Let me know if anyone needs more information or clarification, and I'll try to get a better picture tonight if that would help.
So my main questions are:
1) Where do I put my headlight?
and
2) If I should get a different one, what should I get?
Thanks for any input!
I'm new. Be gentle!

Several factors make this solvable:
You have a quick release basket, you have a wireless light,
and your basket is wire mesh.
So perhaps you could get some small zip-ties from the hardware store and strap your 'flashlight' light to the SIDE of your front basket, right along the top rim, facing forward, flush with the front corner? Since there are no wires on your light, you could simply leave it permanently strapped on the basket when you take your basket into the store with you.

Well, it sure took me long enough to get around to doing this, but I finally took BleeckerSt_Girl's advice. I got some very thin zip-ties and attached the mount to the side of the basket. I can still unhook the flashlight to use as a regular flashlight if I need to, which is cool. I went for my first evening ride since I set this up last night, and I think it worked really well. Thanks for the suggestion!

I use rubber bands with my flashlight so I can put and take with my different bikes. It's a bright little thing and I may graduate to those cute little velcro jobs from twofish eventually.
