Oh man, my bike is jacked up. I gave it a cursory pat yesterday but was so cold, wet, and sore, I didn't get back to her until today. Ugh. It is less than a year old but I am afraid did not come out of this well. My Brooks titanium saddle is toast, one shifter is a dead soldier, there is something wrong with the rear brakeset and the rear deraileur. Hopefully the frame is OK but I guess I will have to take her to the LBS to make sure and see what the damage is on the components.
UGH. I feel so stupid...it was a stupid, stupid thing to do...I am a pretty decent and certainly experienced rider, to do the same thing twice in one week is ridiculous.
Oh, add the cleat on one shoe to the list of catastrophes...and the ratching mechanisms in both shoes are filled with leaves from my stint in the bush. I tore the palm in one glove (which really needed to be replaced anyhow), my ipod is working, albeit a bit sloshily, but my phone, which survived the crash thanks to the superhuman case I keep it in, keeps saying it doesn't recognize the device... I assume this is from the soaking it took despite the fact that I wrapped it in my headsweat thing to try to keep it drier. Hmmm. This could be expensive.

    Oh man, that sucks!

How are you feeling? I thought about how you didn't remember crashing, and was wondering if you had a concussion?

I hope the frame is okay, and all parts can be fixed or replaced!

Don't feel stupid. Don't beat yourself up. Let those thoughts go. Accidents happen.

If I'm understanding this right, you fell on the job and hurt your thumb? I'm pretty sure that the terms of your employer's workers comp insurance requires you to see a doctor for any accident that causes an injury. If you have some long term damage to your thumb because of that, you'd be on the hook for the bills, and be in trouble for not following the rules at work. I'm just sayin'.

I do wish you would go to a doctor, you sound seriously concussed and that's nothing to mess around with.

LOL! I'm ok. My thumb is fine....a little whonky but it will heal. Yeah, the thumb happened on the job and yeah, we are supposed to go if we are injured, but we are cops and pretty much don't go unless there is lots of blood or bone sticking out of skin. No more headache today and I am bright eyed (even though I had to work all night). A short nap and I will be off to assess the damage to my sweet bike.
Thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!! Ya'll rock. Thinking about the ticks is a little oogy.
