Does anyone have suggestions what to look for when buying your first wetsuit??

Will you be able to try them on somewhere or will you have to go mail order?

at the moment it looks like i'll likely mail order but i'd really like to try sme before i start bargain hunting! i'm hoping that we'll make it to vancouver in the next few weeks and check a few stores there... I think i won't know unless i try some...

If you need to go purely mail order, try calling the companies to get their best recommendations on size based on your actual body measurements and weights. Some suit companies will say that weight is the most important factor in choosing the size and other will say height, etc. I'm a bit too heavy for my height based on the size charts (BlueSeventy) and had to go up a size, but it seems to have worked out.

Another good mail order company that's very helpful over the phone is Promotion (www.wetsuit.com). They also have a good return/exchange policy.
