No, the miles are totalled for you as a user, not per bike or per club. I split my miles between 3 bikes - road, hybrid, and "tagalong" - but my user ID gets credit for all of them. I'm sure with the club it works the same.

Oops, I just realized it might not work that way for the clubs. I'm sure your overall standing would have your total - but probably when you look at the club it would only have the club-based miles. Rats!

IMHO- put your mileage in one club. You are then supporting THAT club. If you split mileage, it could be confusing for everyone. My home club is also on BJ, BUT since I joined TE first, then my loyalty is to TE.

uhm.... that's what i've been saying.... i don't want to split mileage.... my mileage all goes to one club.... but what i asked slantz for is to be able to join two clubs with ALL miles... of course... i can see where you wouldn't want me to be able to do that!

I would guess that would be sort of "cooking the books" for accounting of miles purposes. I don't think your total miles would be correct if you could log them under two different clubs because of the way the database works. But I could be wrong...

i don't think club miles has anything to do with actual miles.... heck... you don't even have to join a club.. i wasn't a member of any club for a long time..... only joined the one i did join after i was asked multiple times to give them my miles!

it just gives you more motivation and competition to have two places to track how you are doing!

Gotta agree with caligurl on this one! I joined Bike Journal and signed up for the Bike Friday club originally. I believe that club was formed before the TeamE one. I later joined the TeamE club, but all my miles are tracked against Bike Friday b/c I didn't want to split my miles. I briefly considered tracking only the miles I ride on my Bike Friday in the Friday club and my Aegis miles in the TeamE club, but then what would I do about my mtb and trainer bike miles??

The solution for me would have all my miles count in both clubs. I wish it would work that way!

    Here's my miles too!

Ok, I think I added my miles, at least they are showing up on the total. I got discouraged with keeping up with my miles after my computer quit working in September. I feel guilty when I estimate miles. I finally got a new computer for my road bike, but now the road season is pretty well over. I plan to do some serious trainer training over winter, but I guess those miles don't count.

I think someone should figure out a handicapping system for those who can ride year round vs. those of us who can't!

Trainer miles count, if you know them. You can mount your speed pickup on the chainstay to ride trainers. Or you can ride rollers and leave the pickup on the front fork.

Your journal can be set up to compare outdoor stats only or not. I have mine checked as outdoor only. I'm just that way. It's hard for me to ride indoors enough to count them. But I prefer people to think I am an outdoors only snob.

Then I'm back in the Game. :D

My new computer is rear wheel mounted so I can keep track of the trainer miles. All I have to do now is to figure out how to reconfigure over on Bike Journal.

Wow, we're up to 75 members for the TE club on bikejournal.com

Unfortunately, only 35 have chosen to kick in the $10 for membership. Our premier club status is long gone ...

Really ladies, $10 isn't much for the service slantz provides. Would you consider joinng?

    Thanks for listening, - Jo.
