Congrats!!!
I'm right there with you mikki! I've been on a weight removal plateau for months until I started riding my new bike 3 weeks ago! I've dropped 1.12 lbs per week but I am seeing more trimming & muscle definition in my legs than appears on the scale so I heartily agree with the gaining muscle/loosing fat theory!
Since I'm not a road warrior (way too nervous) I am limited to a nearby rail trail. However, once I got over my fear of the hills I needed to conquer in order to reach the trail there has been no stopping me! I regularly ride the 24 mile trip and was ecstatic that I not only accomplished this ride, but I had enough energy to go even farther! Evidently walking 3-4 miles per day for the past year has strengthened my legs & conditioned my cardiovascular system making cycling the most enjoyable experience I've had in decades! And to think.....we burn mega calories while having so much fun is ....well it's like something that needs to be shouted from the rooftops or something!
Let's both keep up the good work Mikki! Ride on!!!
~doorah~who is already stressing over the coming winter & her inablility to ride.......wondering if there is a women's cross country ski site that compares to TE???
