I have three bikes that I use regularly, and one awaiting rebirth as either a single speed or an Xtracycle. I'm very happy with all of them, and they all do exactly what they are intended for.

Jamis Coda Comp (2003): This was my commuting bike when I lived in DC. It's quick and responsive, has a nice rack (), and is, for me, the perfect commuting bike. I work from home now, so it's become my errand bike. I need bigger panniers for groceries, but for now I make do with the ones I have.

Luna Eclipse road bike (2005): I got this bike two years after my Very Bad Accident that totaled by former road bike, a 1983 Vitus. This is one of my bikes that I take out for long rides either alone, with my best friend, or with the local bike club.

Bike Friday road bike (2008): this is my other long distance road bike that also travels with me on vacations and business trips. I've taken in far and wide because it fits in a suitcase. It's also quite the conversation starter on group rides. It also takes me on country road rambles, and is scheduled to take me on a century ride next week.

Specialized Stumpjumper Sport (1985): I got this one new way back when. It was my racing MTB long before suspension made its appearance on the scene. I commuted on it in DC before I got the Jamis (and subsequently cut 10 minutes off of my 14-mile commute each way). It's a beautiful lugged steel frame, heavy, and will someday become my sleek single speed urban exploring bike or my heavy-duty grocery bike with Xtracycle. Right now it languishes in my brother's basement.

That's it. I don't need any other bikes. Maybe someday I'll toy with cyclocross, but I think I'd rather get a kayak, or perhaps get my roof repaired .

I have four bikes that see regular use.

    1) 1987 Bridgestone 10 sp.- this steel tank is my errand running bike.

    2) 2003 Raleigh M40 hardtail- used as a commuter with slick tires. Now sees action when I ride with the hubby.

    3) 2004 Specialized Dulce Elite- set up as my wet weather bike.

    4) 2004 Giant TCR C W- main ride.
Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.
