I buy a separate tire (not a really cheap one because they often wear through pretty quickly) that I use solely for when I'm on the trainer. Then you keep your good, more $ tires for the road.
I have an extra rear wheel for my trainer. I mount an old, worn tire on it so I can save my "good" tires for the road. It got kind of expensive wearing out tires on the trainer.
